Key Ingredients

ingredients for cauliflower wings

Almond flour – Flour is essential to make the thin batter that coats the florets and mimics a “wing”. I used almond flour to make these cauliflower wings low-carb and keto-friendly, but you can use regular flour if you prefer.

Spices – Sweet paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper are the only seasonings necessary to make a batter packed with flavor.

Buffalo hot sauce – It adds a punch of flavor when you put some in the batter as well as the sauce! Use your favorite brand for this recipe.

Cauliflower – You will need about 5 cups of florets. I broke apart a head of cauliflower, but you can buy precut florets if you prefer less prep work.

Butter – Hot sauce and butter together make a rich and delicious buffalo sauce! You could also use ghee or vegan butter for a dairy-free or vegan diet.

Recipe Steps

Step One

Spray the basket of the air fryer with nonstick cooking spray so the florets don’t stick. Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a large bowl combine the seasonings and almond flour then stir to combine. Add the water and two tablespoons of hot sauce and stir until a batter forms.

Please see the recipe card at the end of this post for the exact ingredients and measurements.

Add the cauliflower florets to the batter and toss until it’s coated well. Use tongs to place the florets into the air fryer basket in an even, single layer.

FAQs

Can I stack the cauliflower florets?

No, try to lay them out evenly or the hot air won’t circulate around the florets which is what makes them nice and crispy.

What should I serve with buffalo cauliflower wings?

Just like regular buffalo chicken wings, this recipe tastes delicious served alongside a creamy dip such as ranch dressings, blue cheese dressing, French onion dip, or an aioli. Look for dairy-free brands if you need to avoid dairy.
