Scale
- 2 6–ounce filet mignon steaks
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Take the steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for at least 10 minutes.
- Then, unwrap the steaks and place them in a shallow dish. Pat them dry with a clean paper towel.
- Then, use a pastry brush or your hands to coat the steaks with the olive oil. Divide the salt and pepper between the tops of the two steaks.
- Place steaks in your air fryer and set the time to 8 minutes at 400°F.
- Turn the steaks over and set the time to 6 more minutes for medium-rare doneness for a total cooking time of 14 minutes. If you want them to be medium, increase the time to 15-18 minutes total. For well-done, cook them for a total of 18-20 minutes.
- Use tongs to transfer the steaks to a serving dish. Let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Some air fryer models needs to be preheated. Please refer to the owner’s manual of your particular model to see if you need to preheat it before using.
- Most air fryers can fit up to 3 steaks at a time. Try not to let them overlap if you cook 3 or more at a time.
- You can get creative with your seasonings. Feel free to add up to a teaspoon each of dried rosemary, Italian seasoning, or Cajun seasoning to coat the steaks before you cook them.
- Store any leftover cooked steak in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
