Air Fryer French Toast
If you want a quick and easy breakfast recipe that everyone loves, try this Air Fryer French Toast. You only need 15 minutes from start to finish. This delicious recipe can easily be made gluten-free.
While it’s traditional to cook French toast in a pan, there are a few reasons why you would want to make it in an air-fryer instead. Some people live in a dorm or situation where they don’t have access to a stovetop. And, some people may want a hands-off method to making this yummy breakfast recipe.
This is when the air fryer comes in super handy! It’s a mini convection oven that makes food much faster than a big oven does.
I was very hopeful that the air fried version of French toast would be as good as the pan version, and it is! This Air Fryer French toast recipe will give you a golden, crisp result that you will certainly devour.
Recipe Steps
Step One
The first step to making your Air Fryer French Toast is to soak your bread in eggs. Just break your eggs into a bowl, beat them with a fork, and then add the bread slices. Let them soak for a few minutes on each side.
Step Two
The next step is to fashion a tray for the French toast using aluminum foil. This will prevent the egg mixture from making a big mess in the bottom of your air fryer. Lay the soaked bread on top.
Step Three
Air fry your French toast for 5 minutes at 365 degrees. Then, flip it and cook for another 5 minutes. At this point, the French toast should be golden brown and the egg should be cooked through.
Step Four
Use a spatula to transfer the cooked French toast to a plate. Top with maple syrup, sliced strawberries, or your choice toppings. Enjoy hot.

Description
If you want a quick and easy breakfast recipe that everyone loves, try this Air Fryer French Toast. You only need 15 minutes from start to finish. This delicious recipe can easily be made gluten-free.
Ingredients
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 2 slices of bread
- 2 eggs, beaten
Instructions
- Place the eggs in a bowl or container large enough so that your bread pieces can fit inside.
- Beat the eggs using a fork and then lay each slice of bread on top of the egg mixture.
- Flip the bread once so each side is covered with the egg mixture.
- Then, fold a large piece of aluminum foil so that it can hold the bread. Turn up the sides of the foil so that the egg mixture will not run out. Place the foil basket inside your air fryer basket, leaving room around the edges so that the hot air can circulate.
- Spray the top of your foil basket with cooking spray and then lay the bread on top. You can pour the excess egg mixture on top.
- Set the time to 365°F for 5 minutes.
- Flip the bread and cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the French toast is golden brown on top and the egg is no longer runny.
- Serve hot, with your choice of toppings.
Notes
- I like to serve French toast with maple syrup and sliced strawberries.

I made this for my husband this morning. I used potato dill bread from Great Harvest Bread Co. it really drank up the eggs. This type of bread it dense. He thought it was good but I could have cooked it without the tin foil as it was not very runny. I used medium eggs so maybe I will use 3 next time. I am happy I found another recipe for my air fryer.
