  • You can adapt this recipe to make it fit your dietary needs. As written, it is both dairy-free and gluten-free.

This recipe makes two servings and acts as a full meal replacement. Each one has approximately:

  • 400 calories,
  • 12 grams of fat,
  • 8 grams of fibers,
  • 22 grams of protein,
  • and tons of vitamin C, magnesium, and other micronutrients.

Recipe Steps

Step One

Gather all of your smoothie ingredients. Steam your greens in a steamer basket on the stovetop or in a glass bowl in the microwave. This is an optional step, but I think it make the greens less bitter and easier to digest.

Step Two

Toss everything into the pitcher of your high-speed blender.

1. Start with hemp seeds. 2. Add carrot juice. 3. All all the other ingredients. 4. Blend until smooth.

Step Three

Process on high for 60 seconds. Divide the Chocolate Cherry Green Breakfast Smoothie into two glasses and serve.

Top Tips

  • You can swap your favorite frozen fruit for the cherries. Strawberries make a great choice although the smoothie will be the sweetest using sweet frozen cherries.
  • Store leftovers in a tightly sealed container in the fridge for up to 2 days.

  • 3 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 2 cups carrot juice
  • 2 cups frozen sweet cherries
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon lucuma powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 Brazil nuts
  • 1 tablespoon cacao nibs
  • 2 scoops collagen protein powder (VEGAN: use plant-based protein powder)
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 2 large handfuls kale (steamed for easier digestibility)


  1. Combine the hemp seeds, carrot juice, cherries, blueberries, mango, peanut butter, lacuma powder, ground cinnamon, peppermint extract, Brazil nuts, cacao nibs, protein powder, and steamed kale in the pitcher of your blender. Process the ingredients on high for 60 seconds.
  2. Divide the mixture between two glasses and serve cold.


Store any leftovers in a tightly-sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
