What is Clean Eating Anyway?
Clean eating is actually not as restrictive as you might think. Clean eating means choosing as broad of a variety of real foods that work for you! This includes fruits, vegetables, beans, meats, fish, and whole grains. I did choose to make this book all gluten-free and dairy-free, so many of the recipes are either paleo or vegan-friendly, and are clearly marked as so. You can read more about clean eating here.
In addition to all the great recipes, Clean Eating Every Day has sections for describing a clean eating diet, recommended pantry items, and other resources. PLUS, as an added bonus, I’ve added extra PDFs including:

My Health & Disordered Eating Recovery Journey
I wrote more about my clean eating journey in the introduction of the book, too. If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know that I’ve been on quite the health journey. If only I had known how close a role my food choices affected my health over the years, I would have saved so much pain and suffering. I spent most of my adolescence and young adulthood living with hormonal imbalance (PCOS), acne, anxiety, binge-eating disorder, and a poor self-image.
For too many years, I looked in the mirror and hated what I saw. It sounds harsh, and it was. I didn’t have a menstrual cycle, I had horrible acne, and later I had chronic migraines and debilitating anxiety. Then, in 2012, I was diagnosed and treated for thyroid cancer. My world literally broke apart. The worst part was that I had no idea that the answer to almost all my problems wasn’t in a pill or unfixable because I was broken, but was in the food I ate and how I managed stress.
But, thank goodness, I consider myself healthy now with a much more positive and loving mindset. And, I know enough to fuel myself with real food as often as possible. I’ve let go of unnecessary food restrictions while respecting my specific sensitivities. By eating whole foods most of the time, my cravings have disappeared, my weight has normalized, and I go about my daily life without an unhealthy focus on food. That said, I love to eat and I love to find ways to make healthy food taste good! That’s one reason why I’m a food blogger, so I can be part of the amazing virtual community of other people who want to eat well and feel well. I’m so grateful to have this opportunity to create and share this book, and hopefully to be part of the solution.
