With the first month of 2018 coming to a close, I wanted to share some of my favorite clean eating products, discounts, and moments from January, including a freebie for all of you lovely people (read onto the end for the freebie).
I’ve passed my 5+ year-mark of being thyroid cancer-free. Just last week, I had an ultrasound, blood tests, and a consultation with my endocrinologist who considers me cured. Despite all the challenges of living without a thyroid, I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. I was stressed before the appointments, and then left feeling gratitude to be where I am now on my journey.
Also, it’s been one year since we adopted our kitties. These two have proven to be quite the handful, from figuring out how to open doors to waking us up at 4:30 am looking for attention, they’ve become part of the family and they’re completely spoiled and adored (see their baby pictures here).
I’ve been reading more books lately, with so many great options to choose from. I specifically bought these three for cooking and recipe inspiration.
The Paleo Instant Pot book has been invaluable as I get familiar with this new-to-me appliance, the Body Love book I got after hearing an interview on The Balanced Blonde podcast with the author, and the Ready or Not! cookbook I got because I really love the blogger Michelle Tam from Nom Nom Paleo.
What new books are you loving lately? I’m always looking for recommendations!
Now onto the products I’ve been using. Let’s be honest, healthy living can be expensive, so I hope this list helps inspire you to try some great products and saves some money at the same time (some affiliate links included).
One of the products I consider a must-have for gluten-free cooking is Otto’s Cassava Flour. It also happens to be grain-free and made from a whole food. I use it for muffins, pancakes, fruit crumbles, tortillas, and more.
Next up are Mammoth Bars, a delicious snack or meal replacement using certified organic ingredients and sprouted nuts and seeds. These bars are made in small batches and should be stored in the fridge. They’re high in protein and low in sugar, and I always have a case on the ready. I recommend the variety pack!
If you’re focusing on self-care like I’ve been, magnesium foot or bath soaks are happening daily at my house. I sleep so much better after I have a soak with at least a cup of Enviromedica Ancient Minerals magnesium flakes.
I interviewed the CEO of the company called EnergyBits recently all about the health benefits of algae. The interview was so fascinating and I can’t wait for you to listen to it (it will be on my podcast soon). I have been popping spirulina tablets on the daily since that interview.
And, finally, something I can offer you for FREE! I updated my No-Bake Energy Bites e-book recently, including a brand-new, previously unpublished recipe for the Sunflower Chocolate Chip Bites.
Get the new recipe plus 11 others by signing up for my weekly newsletter list here If you’re already signed up, just shoot me an email (carrieATcleaneatingkitchenDOTcom) and I’ll send you the revised e-book. Or, you can look for it in the newsletter I’ll be sending out this Friday. All of the recipes are vegan and gluten-free, and I recommend buying the ingredients online at Vitacost.com.
That’s a wrap for January. What products, book, or anything else are you loving this month. Share with me in the comments!
