I was lucky enough to be invited by my friends at Vitacost.com to try MegaFoods new line of nutrient boosters that are non-GMO, Vegan, Gluten Free and made with whole herbs & fresh foods (note: I have no affiliation with either of these companies and was not compensated for this post other than receiving the products):
Y’all know I’m a sucker for green smoothies, I have one just about every other day for breakfast and I credit them with greatly enhancing my intake of green leafies, especially since I’m a super-taster and I generally balk at the flavor of greens outside of basic lettuce.
I’ve written before about the different super foods I put into my smoothies, and these products fall within that category. I was especially excited to try the Daily Energy version due to the fact that I could use some extra energy for some big stuff I’m doing right now (to see what I’m talking about, follow my Instagram feed). Besides, we could all use some extra energy now and then, right?
Caffeine is always an option for those days when you’re dragging, but caffeine from black tea or coffee turns me into an anxiety-ridden mess. I just wish you could smell how delicious this bag of nibs smells, kinda like the awesome aroma of coffee beans, but about a million times better, IMHO:
Here is the ingredient list for the MegaFoods product:
Making the smoothie is a breeze, just add the ingredients to your high-speed blender:
If you’re using organic produce purchased from the farmers’ market, then watch out for adorable (and stretchy!) green caterpillars that need to be rescued and safely transported outside. 🙂
