Golly, where has this week gone? It’s taken me a few days to put together this recipe compilation post; I’m busy behind the scenes updating older recipes to make them more printable and pin-able, but I promise I’m still here!
Some other cool stuff has been happening. I submitted my Winter Breakfast Stew recipe to Dr. Fuhrman’s recent recipe contest and, while it was not selected, it has now been included in his library of recipes:
I really love this breakfast alternative; it uses both squash and kale, but it retains breakfast-ey flavors because of the dried fruit, cinnamon, and nuts. My favorite evolution of this recipe has been to stir in cocoa powder and eat it topped with extra pomegranate nibs, flax meal, and homemade soy yogurt:
I’ve also been experimenting (read: tried twice so far) with using the video function on my iPhone. I put two up on Instagram of my green smoothie-making process. Here’s one of them…if you can’t see it below, you might try using a different browser:
I hope this is not the extent of my New Year’s Resolution #7 to try incorporating video into my posts. I do like doing the video, I’m just finding it hard to use one hand to hold the phone and the other to do the kitchen stuff. I’m thinking I should try a table-top tripod? Other suggestions?
Anywho, here are the recipes I’ve re-visited recently and thought I’d bring back to your attention.

Here’s what has also been keeping me busy:
We’re having a terrible drought here in California, but the clear days have made for spectacular views along the coast. This is an area north of me called Morro Bay:
I’m still spending lots of time in the kitchen and I’m responding to comments and e-mails, I just haven’t been quite as motivated to be inside as much, and I’m sure you can understand why.
There’s rain in the forecast though, so plan to see me back here soon. 🙂
