I wanted to take the opportunity to give a shout-out to my friend Kimmy and the recipe link-up party, Healthy Vegan Fridays, today. Kimmy is a fellow blogger and thyroid cancer survivor who got in touch with me a few years back. Since then, we’ve become friends in “real life” and had several opportunities to hang out, going hiking in the hills of Palo Alto to feasting at the awesome Lyfe Kitchen, and, most recently, going to Hearst Castle together:
If you’re ever in the area, besides letting me know(!), you should visit nearby Robin’s Restaurant in Cambria, that has plenty of healthy food options, including vegan and gluten-free dishes. Kimmy and I met there before our tour (along with our respective husbands) and, while I didn’t have a vegan entree, I had this great saffron-spiced fruit crumble for dessert with vanilla soy ice cream:
Kimmy also did a really great guest post for me on making homemade almond butter dog treats. <—I really love this post and I can’t wait to meet Kimmy’s rescue pup, Sunny, in person.
