Healthy Vegan Friday:
Today’s edition of Healthy Vegan Friday recipes has plenty of inspiration for Labor Day party dishes. I personally don’t celebrate this holiday other than enjoying a day off from the gym, but it does seem like a good excuse to try something new in the kitchen. Additionally, you’ll find a few links that have great back-to-school and travel tips for healthy eating.

Vega Chlorella Giveaway:
I hope you liked my “flash” Vega Chlorella giveaway yesterday. I thought it was fun and there were over 500 entries! The winners were entrants #82 Jamie P. and #45 Joy M. who should have gotten e-mails from me already. I’m finding Rafflecopter to be a fantastic way to manage my giveaways, so plan to see more of those in the future with cool products that support a healthy, compassionate lifestyle.
Speaking of the future, next week is the start of the annual vegan blogging tradition, Vegan MoFo (stands for the Vegan Month of Food)!!! This will actually be my third year participating in this event, but I’ve failed miserably in my previous attempts to reach 20 posts during the month. Last year, I had a good excuse though (cancer). Do ‘ya like how I just played the cancer card, ha ha?
Okay, so barring any unforeseen
medical emergencies circumstances, I am vowing to blog every weekday for the month of September. Hang on, it’s gonna be a wild ride.
VegNews Veggie Awards:
Okay, last thing: have you voted in the annual Veggie Awards yet? You only have until September 1st and you can do so here. If you are so inclined, would you consider writing-in “Carrie on Vegan” as best food blog? That would kind of make my day. 🙂
This has been a very interesting summer for me. Since finishing my final project for my master’s degree a few weeks ago, I had hoped that some issues I’ve been having with my energy levels would resolve. Well, they haven’t, but just a few days ago I was able to change my thyroid medication dosing schedule to see if that helps. So far, I’m feeling better and “perkier,” for lack of a better description.
I’m hoping that this continues as I have some big plans for this fall: Vegan Mofo, my last master’s degree class, a visit to Seattle, a trip to NYC(!!!), the Healthy Taste of LA with Dr. Barnard, and the continued growth of my recipe app, Vegan Delish.
Have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you bright and early on Monday!
