- 2 cups water
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 tablespoon honey
Instructions
- Begin by boiling 2 cups of water in a medium-sized pot.
- While the water is boiling, juice the lemon.
- Add the lemon juice and honey to the boiling water, stirring until the honey is completely dissolved.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes.
- After the tea has steeped, remove it from heat and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- To serve, pour the tea into a mug and enjoy!
Notes
- While fresh lemon juice is recommended for the best taste and health benefits, bottled lemon juice can be used as a substitute if fresh lemons are not available.
- Use filtered water to reduce any chlorine flavor of non-filtered water.
- You can customize this recipe by adding milk, a dash of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick, or other flavorings to your taste. Or, try adding a slice of fresh ginger or turmeric to the pot. You can also serve it with a dash of cayenne pepper for weight loss benefits (be cautious if your throat is very sore).
