Lettuce Juice Recipe (Juicer or Blender)
This Lettuce Juice Recipe recipe is a light and refreshing green juice that is packed full of nutrition and flavor. Enjoy this veggie juice with a meal or on its own. Here’s how to make it in a juicer or a blender.
Juicing lettuce is a fantastic way to incorporate more greens into your diet in a refreshing and easily digestible form.
Lettuce is mild in flavor, making it a great base that pairs well with a variety of fruits and vegetables.
Its relatively high water content results in a lot of juice so you get more bang for your buck than many other green veggies. In fact, lettuce is on my list of the best vegetables for juicing.
Recipe Benefits
- Lettuce and celery are high in water content, making this juice exceptionally hydrating and refreshing.
- Ginger and lime add a zesty flavor and are known for their digestive benefits, helping to support your digestive system. Fresh citrus juice also adds vitamin C.
- This juice is low in calories, making it an excellent choice for those looking to maintain or lose weight while still getting essential nutrients. See my related list of juices for losing weight.
Lettuce Juice Ingredients
- Lettuce: Provides a mild, refreshing base and enhances the juice’s hydrating quality. Lettuce and other leafy greens are one of the best veggies to juice.
- Celery: Adds a subtle, savory flavor while contributing to the overall freshness of the juice. My celery juice recipe is one of the top recipes on my site, but it can be an intense flavor on its own.
- Lime: Introduces a tangy citrus flavor, enhancing the juice’s zestiness. You can also use lemon juice, but I prefer lime as it is a tiny bit sweeter.
- Ginger: Imparts a spicy kick, adding a warming and invigorating element to the juice. Use fresh ginger root in this green juice recipe.
- Green apple: Adds a bit of natural sweetness to balance the flavor. See my list of the best apples to use in juice.

Recipe Steps
Step One
Wash and chop your veggies so they fit in the blender or juicer. I like to use a slow juicer, but you can also use a blender if you don’t have the budget for an expensive juicer.
Please see the recipe card at the end of this post for the exact ingredients and measurements.
Step Two
Add all ingredients to your chosen machine, adding water if using a blender.
Step Three
Blend until smooth or run through the juicer per directions.
Step Four
Strain through a nut milk bag, chill, and serve!
I hope you agree that this juice is a great way to get the nutrition of veggies quickly and easily. Many people like to consume vegetable juices as part of a healthier life and diet.

Recipe Tips
- You can use romaine lettuce if you prefer. I wouldn’t use iceberg lettuce, though, as it has lower nutritional value.
- You can easily double or triple this recipe for more servings.
- Fresh juice is best served right after it’s made. But, it can be stored in a covered container like glass jars in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Recipe FAQs
Yes, you can use various types of lettuce for juicing, including romaine or butter lettuce. Each type has a slightly different flavor and nutrient profile, but all can be used to create a mild and refreshing juice.
I would avoid juicing iceberg lettuce, though, because it is low in nutrition compared with other lettuce varieties.
To reduce bitterness, you can add sweeter fruits like apples or pears to the juice. Additionally, incorporating ingredients like lime or ginger can help balance the flavors and create a more palatable drink.

- Total Time: 15 Minutes
- Yield: 2 Servings 1x
Ingredients
- 1 head of green or red leaf lettuce, washed and chopped (about 6–8 cups)
- 5 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 green apple, cored and chopped
- 1 lime, peeled
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
- 1 cup water (if using a blender)
Instructions
- Cut the celery and apple into large pieces that will fit through the feeding tube of a juicer. If you will be using a blender to make your juice, then cut your produce into smaller pieces than if you are using a juicer.
- If you are using a juicer, then run the vegetable and fruit pieces through the juicer. Collect the juice in a pitcher and chill or serve immediately.
- If you are using a food processor or blender, add the lettuce, celery, apple, lime, ginger, and water to the base. Blend or process on high for 20-30 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth.
- Then, pour the blended juice through a nut milk bag, squeezing it from the top down to drain the juice into a pitcher. Discard the collected pulp, or save it and use it for another purpose.
- Serve the juice immediately.
