Patriotic 4th of July Fruit Kabobs
Summer is almost here which means BBQs, picnics, and fun in the sun. Celebrate patriotic holidays like Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day with these festive red, white, and blue Patriotic Fruit Kabobs. They’re easy to make and are a healthy appetizer. Plus, kids love to help put them together!

Recipe Steps
Step One
Set sliced bananas on a plate or cutting board and use a pastry brush to gently coat them on all sides in pineapple juice.

Step Two
Assemble your skewers as in the photos, creating a red, white, and blue pattern.
Start with the strawberry for red and then a banana slice for white.
Step Three
Top with a blueberry for blue.
Step Four
Repeat the pattern until you’ve used up all the fruit.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to serve.

If you are eating these immediately, you can skip that step. Bananas do brown fairly quickly, especially when they are being handled as you are sliding them onto the skewers. If that doesn’t bother you or you are serving them right away, you don’t need to use it. Or, feel free to use lemon juice instead.
Blackberries are blue enough they can be used in place of blueberries. They might be a bit delicate to get on the skewers, but you can always give it a try. And of course, you can make these for any occasion with any of your favorite fruits!

Ingredients
- 2 large bananas, sliced into 12 slices each
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice (for brushing the banana slices)
- 24 strawberries (about 2 pints), green top removed
- 1 cup fresh blueberries (about 1/2 pint)
Instructions
- Place the banana slices on a small plate or in a bowl. Use a pastry brush to brush each slice with pineapple juice to keep the banana slices from browning.
