Drinking pear juice is a great way to enjoy the health benefits of pears. Pears are a great source of fiber, vitamin C, and potassium. Pear juice is also a great way to get your daily dose of antioxidants. Here’s how to make it in a juicer or a blender.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 ripe pears
  • 1 cup water (if using a blender)
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 2 teaspoons sugar or sweetener of choice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the pear into large pieces that will fit through the feeding tube of a juicer. If you will be using a blender to make your juice, then cut your produce into smaller pieces than if you are using a juicer.
  2. If you are using a juicer, then run the fruit pieces through the juicer. Collect the juice in a pitcher, stir in the lemon juice and sweetener (optional), and serve immediately.
  3. If you are using a food processor or blender, add the pears, water, lemon juice, and sweetener (optional) to the base. Blend or process on high for 20-30 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Then, pour the blended juice through a nut milk bag, squeezing it from the top down to drain the juice into a pitcher. Discard the collected pulp, or save it and use it for another purpose.
  5. Serve the juice immediately.

Notes

  1. You can easily double or triple this recipe for more servings.
  2. Fresh juice is best served right after it’s made. But, it can be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  3. You can use any type of pear for this recipe, but they should be ripe.
  4. Depending on how sweet your pears are, you may not need any sweetener. If the juice is not sweet enough, stir in 1-2 teaspoons of sugar, honey, maple syrup, or your favorite sweetener.
