No matter the weather or season, I think you’re going to love this sweet and tangy Grapefruit Smoothie. It’s a delicious and nutritious way to start the day. This recipe is made dairy-free and vegan.

  • Total Time: 7 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 grapefruits, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds or hemp seeds
  • 2 dates, pitted

Instructions

  1. In the base of a high-speed blender, combine the chopped grapefruit, pineapple, strawberries, almond milk, hemp seeds, and dates.
  2. Process on high for about 30 seconds, or until the smoothie is creamy and fully blended.
  3. Serve immediately, or pour into a glass with a lid and refrigerate for up to 2 days.

Notes

  1. You can use virtually any type of plant-based milk in this recipe, including coconut milk. You can also use dairy milk if you want, but then the recipe will not be vegan.
  2. You can use pink or white grapefruits in this recipe.
  3. Store any leftovers in a covered glass in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  4. Feel free to add 1-2 scoops of unsweetened protein powder to help increase the protein content of this smoothie.
