For a special gathering or holiday, try this refreshing Strawberry Mocktail recipe. It is slightly sweet with a strong strawberry and mint flavor. This is a low-sugar drink that everyone loves.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (about 1/2 a pint), stems removed and strawberries halved
  • 8 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 lime, juiced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 2 cups ice cubes (you can also use crushed ice)
  • 1 12-ounce can of naturally flavored lime sparkling water

Instructions

  1. In a jar, combine the halved strawberries, mint leaves, maple syrup, and lime juice.
  2. Use a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to smash or muddle the ingredients together. They don’t have to be completely smashed, but the more you smash, the more natural juices and flavors will come out.
  3. Divide the muddled mixture between four glasses.
  4. Top with ice and sparkling water and serve immediately.

Notes

  1. You can easily double this recipe to make more servings.
  2. If your strawberries are very firm, you may need to cut them into quarters to make them easier to muddle.
  3. For a flavor variation, try using fresh basil instead of mint.
  4. You can also use lime soda instead of sparkling water. If you use a sweetened soda, then leave out the maple syrup.
