This Dairy-Free Creamy Avocado Spread will be your new best friend when making sandwiches or toasts.
I think I finally got over putting cranberry relish on everything, so now I’m onto this avocado spread. You’ll see how easy it is to make in a moment, and it works so great on gluten-free toast or crackers.
The only ingredients you need are a ripe avocado, your favorite mayonnaise, your favorite salsa to spice it up, and a squeeze of lemon to keep it from browning. I recommend these two brands of mayonnaise as they are made with oils that are not harmful, including coconut oil and avocado oil. Note: you can always use a vegan mayo if you prefer, but I have not found one that doesn’t include canola or safflower oils, and I try not to consume industrial seed oils. You literally just combine the ingredients into a bowl and use a fork to smash it up.
Then, you can build your sandwich, toast, or cracker with extras like roast turkey, arugula, and chives.

- 1 large ripe Haas avocado
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon jarred salsa
- 1 teaspoon freshly-squeezed lemon juice
- Combine the avocado, mayonnaise, salsa, and lemon juice in a medium glass bowl.
- Use a fork to mash together the ingredients until smooth.
- Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
