If you haven’t tried juicing vegetables, you might worry about the taste. But carrots are the perfect vegetable to start with as they are naturally sweet and a favorite of most, young and old alike.

I guarantee you will enjoy this juice until the very last drop. It’s also easy to make in a high-powered blender, which will give you a chance to try juicing without any extra equipment.

Why You Need This Recipe

  • Juicing is fast and easy, and you are gaining a lot of nutrients when you drink a freshly made glass of juice. Make homemade carrot juice in a high-powered blender or a juicer.
  • It’s an easy way to “sneak” some extra vitamins into your family. While they may not sit down and eat so many carrots in a sitting, they will happily drink down a glass of juiced carrots.
  • You can customize the flavors to your liking by what you blend with the carrots.

Key Ingredients

Carrots offer beta carotene and other vitamins. They are perfect to help add nutrients when you might need a boost.

You can just juice the carrots, or add other ingredients such as oranges, ginger, lemon, cucumbers, or celery. But, for 100% carrot juice, just use carrots.

Recipe Steps

Step One

Wash the carrots well and chop into small enough pieces so your blender can handle things.

Add the carrots to the Vitamix container or a Blendtec blender.

Please see the recipe card at the end of this post for the exact ingredients and measurements.

Step Two

Pulse to mash up the carrots and then turn the blender to a high speed.

If your blender has a tamper you may need to use it to direct the carrots to the blade. You can also stop the blender and use a spoon to move things around before continuing. A good blender like a Vitamix will have no problem blending the carrots.

Eventually, try to get your blender to its highest speed to ensure that all the dietary fiber gets blended up.

If you have a juicer at home, you can use that instead of a blender. It’s up to you!

You can make homemade celery juice or green juice in this way too.

Step Three

Strain in a nut milk bag or cheesecloth and serve immediately.

Or, you can chill to help bring out the natural sweetness of this healthy drink. You can also serve it with ice cubes, if you prefer.

Recipe FAQs

Do I need to use a blender?

A Vitamix will be your best bet here. If you have a very strong food processor you could also try using that. A juicer is always an option if you are already a juicer and you own one. But I like to show you how with just a blender you can make many things, including juice.

What other ingredients can I use?

Feel free to add fresh ginger, apples, or oranges. Orange juice or lemon juice will add more vitamin C.

Even a roasted beet or a raw beet would be great. It’s up to you how you want to adjust the taste of your juice. Starting with more oranges and fewer carrots can be a great way to introduce a new flavor and then work your way towards straight carrot juice.

What are the health benefits of vegetable juice?

Vegetable juices can help increase your intake of micronutrients without having to digest all the fiber in the veggies (which can be hard on the digestive system). For people with blood sugar issues, homemade juice made not be an option. But, for most people, enjoying some vegetables in juice form can be a good source of vitamins. Speak to your healthcare provider if you have questions about whether juicing is right for you.
