Vitamix Recipe FAQs

Can I use a Vitamix blender to make green smoothies, and will they be smooth?

Yes, you can definitely use a Vitamix blender to make green smoothies. The powerful motor and high-quality blades ensure that even tough greens are blended smoothly, giving you a perfectly textured smoothie.

As a further note, I will often steam my greens before putting them in a smoothie to help remove the oxalates and to make the green smoothie easier to digest. But, that is optional!

Is it possible to make hot soup in a Vitamix blender?

Absolutely, Vitamix blenders can make hot soup. The friction from the blades can heat the ingredients as they blend, allowing you to prepare hot soups directly in the blender.

As a precaution, I always like to put a towel over the top of the Vitamix when I’m blending hot liquids to reduce any chance of getting burned if any liquid escapes.

Can I grind nuts and seeds in a Vitamix for making healthy spreads?

Yes, a Vitamix is capable of grinding nuts and seeds. It can efficiently turn them into smooth butters or spreads, ideal for healthy snacking.

How can I make dairy-free milk alternatives with a Vitamix?

Making dairy-free milk alternatives is easy with a Vitamix. You can blend ingredients like almonds, soy, or oats with water, then strain the mixture for homemade plant-based milk. You may wish to soak your nuts or seeds prior to blending to make them even easier to blend and easier to digest.
