  • Italian sausage is the highlight of this dish, providing a substantial amount of protein and flavor that is sure to please both your tummy and your tastebuds. Feel free to use whatever type of sausage you find at the grocery store, including hot Italian sausage, chicken sausage, or polish sausage. I wouldn’t use breakfast sausages though, as they tend to be very sweet and not as savory.
  • Bell Peppers and onions are loaded with vitamin C and antioxidants, not to mention they truly add lots of flavor to any dish. You can use red bell peppers or green bell peppers, plus any type of onion including white onions, yellow onion, or red onions.
  • Olive oil helps the cooking process and helps prevent burning.
  • Dried parsley has a mild, bitter flavor that is housed in almost everyone’s spice cabinet. Feel free to use whatever seasonings you like, including garlic powder, red pepper flakes, black pepper, or Italian seasoning.

Set the air fryer to 400 degrees F.

Cook the sausage and peppers for a cook time of 10 minutes, stopping to toss the basket once during cooking.

Serve warm with your favorite side dish or plain.

I like to serve the juicy sausages with steamed white rice, but the sausage and peppers are also great on a crust roll like hoagie buns to make sausage and pepper sandwiches. Another great option is to serve this delicious meal with steamed broccoli or a side salad.

I hope your family loves this sausage and peppers recipe as much as mine does! It’s great for meal prep or for a quick dinner.
