Cilantro Juice
This Cilantro Juice recipe is perfect for supporting your body’s natural detoxification system. It’s a healthy green juice that tastes great too! Try this recipe in a juicer or a blender.
If you’ve never tried juicing fresh herbs, it’s time to start. Cilantro grows readily in summer gardens and is perfect for adding to a fresh green juice. You can add up to an entire bunch of cilantro into this delicious juicing recipe.
Because the numerous health benefits of cilantro include chelation (or drawing out of) heavy metals, some people consider cilantro to be an ingredient that supports our body’s natural detoxification system.
Why You Need This Recipe
- Juicing cilantro adds a fresh, bright flavor that pairs well with citrus, cucumber, and green apple.
- Naturally hydrating and rich in chlorophyll, cilantro juice is a vibrant green color that is so tasty!
- This recipe is budget-friendly. Try growing cilantro (also called coriander) in your garden.
Key Ingredients
- Cucumber makes a nice hydrating base for this vegetable juice.
- Lemon adds brightness to the juice.
- Cilantro is great for natural detox support and flavor.
- Ginger is zesty and also has therapeutic properties. See my favorite herbs for juicing.

Step-By-Step Instructions
Step One: Prep your produce for juicing or blender. If you are going to use a blender, combine everything in the pitcher, plus some water.
Step Two: Blend the ingredients. Or, if using a juicer, run the produce through your juicer.
Step Three: Strain the juice, saving the pulp for another use or discarding it (juice pulp is great for compost)!
Step Four: Serve your Cilantro Juice immediately! Or, store it in a covered jar in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
What is Cilantro & Cilantro Juice Good For?
- Supports detoxification by aiding the body’s removal of heavy metals like lead and mercury through the process known as chelation.
- Contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that may help reduce oxidative stress.
- May support blood sugar balance and heart health through its potential lipid-lowering and glucose-regulating effects.
When to Drink Cilantro Juice?
While I can’t offer medical advice, you might consider drinking this juice in the morning either on an empty stomach or with breakfast. Green juices made at home generally have lots of nutrients and powerful antioxidants that can be energizing (try my parsley juice recipe which is also known to help with energy).
If you are pregnant or take medications that may increase bleeding, it’s a good idea to ask your healthcare provider before consuming too many leafy greens.
Recipe Tips
- You can easily double or triple this recipe for more servings.
- Fresh juice is best served right after it’s made. But, it can be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- You can peel the cucumber if you want to, but you don’t have to. You can also use two Persian cucumbers instead of an English cucumber if you prefer.

- Total Time: 15 minutes
- Yield: 2 1x
Ingredients
- 1 bunch fresh cilantro, washed and patted dry
- 1 English cucumber
- 1 green apple
- 1/2 lemon, peeled
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
- 1 cup water (if using a blender to make the juice)

- If you are using a food processor or blender, add the cilantro, cucumber, apple, lemon, ginger, and water to the base. Blend or process on high for 20-30 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth.
- Then, pour the blended juice through a nut milk bag, squeezing it from the top down to drain the juice into a pitcher. Discard the collected pulp, or save it and use it for another purpose.
- Serve the juice immediately.
