Detox Tea Recipe with Apple Cider Vinegar
This Detox Tea recipe is a rejuvenating and cleansing beverage, combining the warmth of ginger, the tang of lemon, and a hint of spicy cayenne. Its natural ingredients are known for boosting metabolism and aiding digestion, creating a soothing yet invigorating drink that’s perfect for starting the day or unwinding in the evening.
- Total Time: 10 Minutes
- Yield: 1 Serving 1x
Ingredients
- 1 cup water (I like using filtered water to prevent any chlorine taste)
- One 1-inch piece of fresh ginger root (peeled and sliced) or 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder
- 1 teaspoon fresh mint leaves (4–5 leaves) or a bag of organic mint tea
- 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon raw honey (optional, depending on your dietary needs)
- A dash of cayenne pepper (optional, for a metabolism boost)
- A small pinch of turmeric powder (optional, for anti-inflammatory benefits)
Instructions
- Begin by boiling your filtered water using a kettle. If you don’t have a kettle, you can boil water in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
- While waiting for the water to boil, peel and slice your fresh ginger. If you’re using fresh mint, wash the leaves thoroughly.
- Once your water reaches a boiling point, pour it into a large mug. Add the sliced ginger or ginger powder to the hot water. If you’re using a mint tea bag, add it to the water now.
- Let the ginger and mint steep in the boiling water for about 5 minutes. The longer you let it steep, the more flavorful and concentrated your tea will be.
- After steeping, remove the tea bag (if used) and ginger slices. You can use a strainer for this if needed.
- Stir in the fresh lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and raw honey (if using). Mix until the honey is completely dissolved.
- If you’re using cayenne pepper and turmeric, add them now. These spices can add a kick to the tea and provide additional detoxifying benefits.
- Sip the detox tea while it’s still warm. Slowly drinking your tea allows you to enjoy its flavors and gives your body time to absorb the nutrients more effectively.
- You can enjoy this tea in the morning to kickstart your metabolism or in the evening to aid digestion.
