Radishes are a great source of vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants. They have been shown to support liver function, aid in digestion, and have anti-inflammatory properties.

The addition of apple, lemon, and ginger not only enhances the flavor of the juice but also adds extra health benefits such as improved digestion, immune support, and anti-inflammatory effects. This juice is low in natural sugars which means it may also aid weight loss.

Radish Juice Benefits

This blend of radish, apple, lemon, and ginger offers a unique combination of flavors and health benefits, making it a refreshing choice for those looking to support their overall well-being.

  • Can Support Digestive Health: Radish juice, particularly when combined with ginger, can aid in improving digestion. Radishes are rich in enzymes that help digest starches and fats, while ginger is renowned for its ability to soothe the stomach and reduce nausea. This makes the juice a beneficial drink for those looking to enhance their digestive function.
  • May Help Immunity: The high vitamin C content in radishes and lemons contributes to strengthening the immune system.
  • Has Anti-inflammatory Properties: Both ginger and radishes possess natural anti-inflammatory properties, making this juice a great option for reducing inflammation in the body.

Key Ingredients

  • Radishes: As the primary ingredient, radishes bring a peppery and slightly pungent flavor that makes the juice distinctive and invigorating. You can use red, pink, or purple radishes. Their sharp taste is balanced by the sweetness of the apple and the tanginess of the lemon, creating a complex flavor profile. Radishes are a root vegetable that are a good source of antioxidants.
  • Apple: Apples are included for their natural sweetness, which helps to counterbalance the spiciness and strong flavor of the radishes and the ginger. I like to use a Granny Smith green apple which is low in natural sugars despite being a fruit juice (see my article on the best apples for juicing).
  • Lemon: Lemon adds a fresh, zesty, and tangy flavor that enhances the overall taste of the juice. I always like to peel my lemons before juicing them to avoid the bitter taste of the peel.
  • Ginger: Ginger contributes a warm, spicy kick that pairs well with the sharpness of the radishes. I like to peel my ginger before juicing.
  • Water (optional): Water is optional and may be added to facilitate blending and adjust the consistency of the juice if you’re using a blender.

Please see the recipe card at the end of this post for the exact ingredients and measurements.

Step Three

Blend until smooth or run through the juicer per directions.

Recipe FAQs

Can you juice the radish leaves?

Yes, but you need to wash them well as they are often filled with dirt. The leaves will add a peppery taste to your juice.

This Radish Juice recipe is a unique and nutrient-rich beverage that offers various health benefits, such as aiding digestion and supporting the immune system. Here’s a simple recipe for making radish juice at home using a juicer or a blender.

  • Total Time: 15 Minutes
  • Yield: 2 Servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups of radishes, washed and tops trimmed (about 10 medium-sized radishes)
  • 1 apple, cored and sliced
  • 1/2 lemon, peeled
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, peeled
  • 1/2 cup of water (optional, for easier blending if using a blender instead of a juicer)

Instructions

  1. Cut the produce into large pieces that will fit through the feeding tube of a juicer. If you will be using a blender to make your juice, then cut your produce into smaller pieces than if you are using a juicer.
  2. If you are using a juicer, then run the vegetable and fruit pieces through the juicer. Collect the juice in a pitcher and chill or serve immediately.
  3. If you are using a food processor or blender, add the chopped radishes, apple, lemon, and ginger water to the base, plus water. Blend or process on high for 20-30 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Then, pour the blended juice through a nut milk bag, squeezing it from the top down to drain the juice into a pitcher. Discard the collected pulp, or save it and use it for another purpose.
  5. Serve the juice immediately.

Notes

  1. You can easily double or triple this recipe for more servings.
  2. Fresh juice is best served right after it’s made. But, it can be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
