Step-By-Step Instructions
Step One: Prep your produce for juicing or blender. If you are going to use a blender, combine everything in the pitcher, plus some water.
Step Two: Blend the ingredients. Or, if using a juicer, run the produce through your juicer.
Step Three: Strain the juice, saving the pulp for another use or discarding it (juice pulp is great for compost)!
Step Four: Serve your Purple Juice immediately! Or, store it in a covered jar in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Purple Juice Recipe Variations
- Add blueberries for extra sweetness and a richer berry flavor
- Include a small piece of ginger for a subtle spicy kick
- Add celery for a more savory, earthy balance (or, try red cabbage for enhanced color)
- Use purple carrots for more purple tones.
- Mix in a few mint leaves for a cooling, refreshing finish
Recipe Tips
- You may wish to wear disposable gloves when handling raw beets as they can stain your hands.
- Try adding up to a 1-inch piece of ginger to this purple drink recipe if you want a tangier juice.
- You can easily double or triple this recipe for more servings.
- Fresh juice is best served right after it’s made. But, it can be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Enjoy this veggie juice as a refreshing morning kickstart or a revitalizing afternoon pick-me-up. It’s naturally sweet and delicious!
- Total Time: 15 minutes
- Yield: 2 1x
Ingredients
- 2 raw red or purple beets, scrubbed well with tops and ends removed
- 1 cup purple grapes
- 1 cucumber
- 1/2 lemon, peeled
- 1 cup water (if using a blender to make the juice)
Instructions
- Cut the produce into large pieces that will fit through the feeding tube of a juicer. If you will be using a blender to make your juice, then cut your produce into smaller pieces than if you are using a juicer.
- If you are using a juicer, then run the vegetable and fruit pieces through the juicer, alternating the soft and hard textured pieces. Collect the juice in a pitcher and serve immediately.
- If you are using a food processor or blender, add the beets, grapes, cucumber, lemon, and water to the base. Blend or process on high for 20-30 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth.
- Then, pour the blended juice through a nut milk bag, squeezing it from the top down to drain the juice into a pitcher. Discard the collected pulp, or save it and use it for another purpose.
- Serve the juice immediately.
