How to Make Rosemary Coffee
Supercharge your morning cup of coffee with the addition of fresh rosemary. This easy upgrade can benefit your memory and health!
You’ll never believe how easy it is to make this rosemary coffee. You really just need a sprig of fresh rosemary that will infuse the coffee as the hot water runs over it.
Rosemary itself is a superfood. It contained the antioxidants caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid, as well as other nutritional benefits. Rosemary has also been studied for its ability to increase memory.
For this recipe, I generally use fresh rosemary, but you can also use dried rosemary leaves. And, to be clear, you don’t actually consume any rosemary in this recipe, but the oils from the rosemary get released as the hot water runs over it, infusing the coffee with rosemary flavor.
Recipe Steps
This is a very easy coffee recipe that is a great way to add extra nutrition to your morning cup of joe.
Step One
To start, just place a fresh sprig at the bottom of your coffee filter. Then, add your ground coffee (I recommend always using fair-trade, organic coffee beans that you grind yourself).
Step Two
Then, just run your coffee maker as usual. You can also do this using a coffee press. You can discard the sprig of fresh rosemary after you have made your coffee.

Can you use decaffeinated coffee for this recipe?
Yes, absolutely!
Can I use dried rosemary for this recipe?
Yes, you can. I would recommend using 1 tablespoon of dried rosemary leaves per batch.

Very interesting idea! I am not a coffee drinker, but I love rosemary. I imagine it smells amazing.
I enjoy a morning cup of coffee, and now it’s just black. I used to load it up with sugar and milk, and now when I taste coffee like that I can’t drink it.
Such a pretty photo of you!! 🙂 I love this idea, lovely!!

XOXO, Megan.
What an interesting addition to kick up the feeling of coffee! Have you tried using other herbs aside from rosemary? 🙂
★★★★★
I haven’t, Nicky, but a few people have suggested flavors like cinnamon or cocoa! 🙂
I am just getting used to drink my coffee without milk, I tried cinnamon before and heard of nutmeg in the coffee. Will try with dried Rosemary as I killed every single plant I tried to overwinter, guess my green thumb just works outside!
I love this
This is such an easy superfood recipe.

I would really like to try this but I have a coffee maker that only uses “pods”. How would I go about making the rosemary coffee with it?
I don’t think it would work with the pods.
Trying this by accident this morning. Make coffee right below a rosemary plant, some leaves fell in.
Ha ha ha! Well what do you think? Worth actually putting some rosemary in next time?
