Look for these different types of vegetables at your local grocery store. Some of these are harder to find, and some are more common. But all of these have various health benefits and are a good source of fiber.

Tahitian spinach is native to Tahiti and other Pacific islands and grows best in warm, humid climates and tropical areas.

The leaves of Tahitian spinach are large and heart-shaped, with a mild flavor that is similar to spinach.

3. Tamarillo

The Tamarillo is native to South America and is a small, egg-shaped fruit. It is typically red or yellow in color and has smooth skin. The flesh of the tamarillo is juicy, with a slightly sweet flavor.

While the edible portion of the Tamarillo plant is a fruit, I’ve included the plant on this list of vegetable names.

5. Taro

Taro root looks like a large potato and the flesh of the taro plant is white or light purple, and it has a starchy taste kind of like sweet potatoes (but not as sweet).

6. Tarwi

Tarwi is an Andean legume that has been cultivated in the highlands of Peru.

Tarwi seeds can be cooked in a variety of ways, and they have a nutty flavor that is similar to that of other legumes.

7. Tatsoi

Tatsoi is a leafy vegetable with dark green and spoon-shaped leaves that is grown in China, Japan, and Korea, and has a slightly sweet and nutty flavor.

I like to use it in stir-fries similar to bok choy or I’ll even put it into a green smoothie. This leafy veggie is a good source of vitamins and is very healthy (it’s also a cruciferous vegetable).

8. Tepary Bean

It has a milder, sweeter taste than the more common Western eggplant and is typically smaller and narrower than other eggplant varieties.

There are so many different varieties of tomato. They are a good source of vitamin C and are also technically a fruit (but I’ve included them on this vegetable list as they are often considered as a vegetable when cooking).
