Recipe Tips

  • Some air fryer models need to be preheated. Please refer to the owner’s manual of your particular model to see if you need to preheat it before using.
  • If you want to make mini corn dogs, then cook them at 370 degrees F for 8 minutes, stopping once to turn them over.
  • Look for frozen corn dogs in the freezer aisle of your grocery store. Be sure to use gluten-free corn dogs for gluten-free diets (my favorite brand of corn dogs is Applegate).
  • Be sure to give the corn dogs some space. Don’t layer or crowd them in the air fryer or the hot air won’t circulate the corn dogs effectively. Nobody wants a soggy corn dog!
  • For crispy corn dogs, be sure to cook them until they are golden brown. Different brands may require different air fryer cook times.

Recipe FAQs

How many minutes do you cook corn dogs in an air fryer?

Corn dogs take 10 minutes at 370 degrees Fahrenheit to cook perfectly in an air fryer. The best way is to turn them over halfway through the cooking time for a crisp outside.

What if the corn dogs don’t fit into the air fryer?

If the sticks are too long you can carefully cut them shorter so they fit in the basket.

Do I need to thaw the corn dogs first?

Nope! No need to thaw them first. Simply place them directly into the air fryer and air fry as directed remembering to turn them over halfway through until they are golden brown. Put them directly in the air fryer basket without parchment paper or any type of liner for the best results.

Are corn dogs healthy?

Corn dogs are a packaged and processed food, but they can also fit the bill when nothing else sounds good. Serve them with some Air Fryer Frozen Broccoli or Air Fryer Carrots to help add some vegetables to your meal. Healthy diets are one that include indulgences too!

If you have dietary restrictions, look for corn dogs that are gluten-free or even plant-based. The best frozen corn dogs have reasonably clean ingredients without a lot of preservatives.

Can I keep leftover cooked corn dogs?

Yes, just place them in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
