Welcome to my updated website, Clean Eating Kitchen! Originally started in 2009, this space has evolved along with my health journey, and I’m so excited to share this new chapter with you.
My mission with Clean Eating Kitchen is to inspire healthy cooking at home, with an emphasis on real food recipes that are gluten- and dairy-free (see my recipe index here).
Just in case you were wondering why and how I came up with this new name, it was something I thought about carefully. I didn’t want to restrict my recipes to only one approach (it seems like the food list of what works for me changes all the time anyway!), so “clean eating” seemed to describe best a healthy approach that takes into account food sensitivities or preferences.
There isn’t one standard definition of clean eating, but one that I like is:
Clean eating includes real, whole foods most of the time, choosing organic and sustainable options whenever possible. Clean eating also means selecting foods that meet one’s individual needs.
So, again, clean eating doesn’t limit one to a particular diet, such as vegan, plant-based, or paleo. Heck, eat dairy and gluten if that works for you. Like many people, I usually end up rebelling against an overly restrictive approach.
Even though my name isn’t in my website title anymore, this space will continue to have a personal touch. There’s just no way I can separate my experience from the recipes I create. As mentioned, my recipes will continue to be gluten- and dairy-free because I have those sensitivities.
I suppose the biggest change is a focus more on ways to better serve you. Some of my goals include:
- Recipe videos included with previous and future blog posts (I’ve also created a YouTube channel for this)
- A soon-to-be released e-cookbook with 55 easy, clean-eating recipes
- Weekly meal prep and planning services with easy, seasonal recipes
- A podcast featuring entrepreneurs, health experts, and more in-depth exploration of clean-eating and health topics.
I’m the kind of person who stays motivated with challenges, so I am feeling super excited to keep moving forward on this path. As always, I’m so grateful to have you at my side. Thank you for all of your support.
