Key Ingredients

  • Ginger is the star of this drink. Fresh ginger root is known to help relieve nausea.
  • Cucumbers are full of water and can help replenish any liquids lost from an upset stomach.
  • Leafy greens help add nutrition and can reduce oxidative stress. I like to use baby spinach as it has a mild flavor, especially if you’re recovering from an alcohol hangover.
  • Coconut water helps add needed electrolytes including potassium. Try to use one that has no added sugar. The natural sugar will add a bit of sweetness. If you don’t want to use coconut water, use the same amount of orange juice instead.
  • Fresh lemon juice or lime juice masks any “green” flavor and is a good source of vitamin C.
  • Lastly, green apple adds a touch more sweetness to the juice.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 English cucumber
  • 1 green apple
  • 1 lemon, peeled
  • 1 one-inch piece of fresh ginger
  • 1 cup of baby spinach, packed (about one large handful)
  • 1 cup coconut water

Instructions

  1. Cut the product into large pieces that will fit through the feeding tube of a juicer. If you will be using a blender to make your juice, then cut your produce into smaller pieces than if you are using a juicer.
  2. If you are using a juicer, then run the vegetable and fruit pieces through the juicer. Collect the juice in a pitcher, stir in the coconut water, and serve immediately.
  3. If you are using a food processor or blender, add the cucumber, apple, lemon, ginger, spinach, and coconut water to the base. Blend or process on high for 20-30 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Then, pour the blended juice through a nut milk bag, squeezing it from the top down to drain the juice into a pitcher. Discard the collected pulp, or save it and use it for another purpose.
  5. Serve the juice immediately.
