Cucumber Ginger Lemon Water
If you’re looking to make a delicious infused water that helps with bloating and energy, try this Cucumber Ginger Lemon Water. This healthy beverage is great first thing in the morning or at anytime of day. It’s hydrating with anti-boating and anti-inflammatory properties too!
Infused water is simply water with fresh fruits or vegetables slices. It’s a healthy way to increase your overall water intake and to get some additional benefits too.
Not only do you get the added flavors of lemon, cucumbers, and fresh ginger, but you get a dose of Vitamin K, Vitamin C, and potassium. Consuming enough water can also benefit skin health, your immune system, and your digestive tract.
Cucumber Ginger Lemon Water is also perfect if you love to entertain as it takes only minutes to put together. It’s a great way to jazz up regular water in a large pitcher, but with fewer calories than most beverages.
Why You Need This Recipe
- Infused waters will encourage you to hydrate. Sometimes life happens and our best laid plans like drinking more water each day just don’t happen. This Cucumber Ginger Lemon water will be a lovely reminder to do so!
- It’s high in nutrients from the cucumbers and lemon. As the fruit and sliced cucumber sits in the water, the flavor and nutrients seep into the water. You’ll get extra flavor with the benefits of the fruits and vegetables which are a natural detoxifier.
- Ice cold infused water is so refreshing on a hot summer day. Both kids and adults appreciate cold water as a great way to stay hydrated.
Key Ingredients
- English cucumbers are rich in vitamins and minerals including Vitamin K, Vitamin C, Magnesium, and potassium. You can use any type of cucumber you like.
- Lemon adds a bright pop of citrus to the water while imparting Vitamin C and soluble fiber. You can use any citrus fruits in this recipe including limes, oranges, or sweet grapefruits.
- Ginger root has a slightly spicy flavor and is most well known for it’s ability to reduce nausea and indigestion.
- Filtered water is water that has been filtered to remove chemicals, pesticides, and chlorine. I like using my RO water system (read my related article on the health benefits of reverse osmosis water). See this other related article on how many ounces are in a gallon.

I know you are going to love this easy recipe over plain water.
Recipe Tips & Substitutions
- You can refill the pitcher with water at least 1-2 extra times, but the flavor of the cucumber and lemon will not be as strong.
- This recipe is best when used within 24 hours. After this, the lemon peel begins to make the water slightly bitter.
- You can serve this immediately but the flavor of the water will be stronger the longer it sits. You can mash the fruit a bit with a wooden spoon to release the juices immediately if needed.
- This recipe is very versatile! Feel free to use mint leaves from fresh mint, or other fruits or veggie slices. Just avoid adding any added sugars which adds extra calories.
Recipe FAQs
Staying hydrated promotes healthy skin, good digestion, and boosts energy levels. It’s important to drink enough water but not too much.
If you don’t have cucumbers and/or lemons you can also infuse water with herbs like mint or basil, fresh berries or fruit, and other types of citrus like limes and oranges. You’ll get a nice fresh flavor from the fresh produce.
The body has a detoxification system to help rid itself from toxins. Staying hydrated supports your body’s natural detox pathways.

Can you use this with carbonated water?
Yes….but it’s not ideal as the carbonation will go flat before it is properly infused.
Can I use dry ground ginger?
Ideally fresh ginger otherwise it will give a powdery texture to the water.
Hi ! Just wondering if. You can blend fruit after use….if there would be any nutritional value…
It will be mushy…I would probably just get rid of it. At least some of the nutrients are going into the water.
Wow easy and effective and affordable 👌
I’ve made flavored water with lemons and with cucumber, I’ve even made it before with both. I have never used fresh ginger though. This was wonderful and refreshing. Thank you!!!
So glad you enjoyed! 🙂
Made this up continuously but stopped when we relocated. So happy to have found the recipe again. It really does ease the inflammation while giving a bit of energy boost. Thank you for posting it.
Made this over the weekend and fell in love!

I’m looking for recipes for meals I can eat that will reduce or even stop my supplement regime.
In your recipe for the water with healthy additions I noticed immediately – “ice cold water”. I have just read that ice cold water is not good for us. Instead drink room temp or warm water.
With your impressive healthy food qualifications, please share your ideas about that.
And. the ads are very unsettling on your website/blog.
You can use room temperature water, if you prefer. There is no scientific evidence that cold water is “not good” for humans. As far as the ads, you can report any that offend you or let me know and I can report them to my ad management company.
I love to keep a pitcher of this in the fridge at all times during hot weather!
