Celery Lime Juice Recipe
Here’s an easy Celery Lime Juice recipe that is nourishing, fresh, and delicious, with directions for making it in a juicer or a blender. Celery juice is a nourishing beverage that you can drink in the morning, or at any time of day.
Drinking celery juice is one of the hottest health trends for health and healing. The potential health benefits have been made popular by the Medical Medium podcast and books.
Potential Health Benefits
Celery is naturally loaded with natural sodium and antioxidants. From my own research, it appears that celery, also known as Apium graveolens, has been traditionally used in Chinese medicine for centuries.
After delving into the scientific evidence using the latin term for celery, I found a ton of studies showing the benefits of celery, including on high cholesterol, Parkinson’s disease, infertility, and cancer.
So, even though there isn’t specific research on drinking celery juice, the science does seem to agree that celery is a healthy food to eat.
There are a lot of claims that drinking celery juice can help reduce bloating and help with digestion. It really depends on the individual and what your digestive system is used to. This juice can help with digestion, but it kind of depends on what you’re used to and what state of health your gut is in when you start.
In regards to the other supposed benefits of drinking celery juice to help reverse medical conditions, I would advise you to consult with your healthcare provider since there just isn’t enough scientific evidence to support that claim.
Juicing Tips
- Making celery juice is actually really easy! You only need celery stalks and a juicer. Or, if you have a blender, you can also make celery juice, but you’ll need to strain it through a nut milk bag.
- Consider buying organic celery if you can, since celery is often sprayed with pesticides.
- I also like to include a fresh, peeled lime as an optional ingredient. I like how it adds brightness and some extra flavor. I’ve been known to juice an apple with the celery, too, but that’s also optional and increases the sugar content.
- For the Medical Medium celery juice recipe, just use 100% celery. Do not add anything else.
Recipe Steps
Using a Juicer
Step One
Grab two bunches of celery and cut off the base and the top of the stalks.
Step Two
Wash the stalks gently in a colander.
Step Three
Feed the celery through the feeding tube of your juicer.
Step Four
Serve the juice immediately and keep any leftovers in a tightly sealed jar in the fridge.
Using a High-Speed Blender
Step One
Grab two bunches of celery and cut off the base and the top of the stalks.
Step Two
Wash them gently in a colander.
Step Three
Chop the celery stalks into thirds and place them in the base of your high-speed blender.
Step Four
Add 1/2 cup of water and put on the lid. Blend until smooth, using the tamper to push the celery into the blades if necessary.
Step Five
Place a clean nut milk bag over the mouth of a pitcher and pour the blended celery through the nut milk bag. Use your hands to squeeze the celery juice through the bag.
Step Six
Serve the juice immediately and keep any leftovers in a tightly sealed jar in the fridge.
FAQs
I haven’t tried making celery juice in a regular blender as opposed to a high-speed blender, but I’m sure it will work. If you want to try it, I would suggest chopping your celery into 1-inch pieces and adding at least 1/2 cup of water. Blend for at least a minute before straining the celery juice.
Not surprisingly, it tastes like celery. If you don’t like the taste of celery, you most certainly will not like the taste of this drink. I am a fan of the flavor, but sometimes I’ll juice a peeled lime and maybe an apple for added sweetness and brightness.
Yes, I like to add a peeled lime and a chopped green apple. The other ingredients make the juice so much more palatable. But, according to the Medical Medium, you should only use celery. So, it depends on what your goals are.
Yes, but I would try to consume it within 48 hours of making it for optimal nutrition. Store it in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator.

My Experience
While some people are very disciplined about drinking celery juice first thing in the morning, I do not find that appealing at all. Sometimes I will use celery juice in my smoothie recipe. But, more often, I drink it as a mid-morning snack on an empty stomach.
I have not tried drinking it consistently in the morning. I drink it mostly for the extra fiber and antioxidants, not to try and treat any condition. To be honest, I consider celery juice just as one of the many green juices that are part of a healthy diet.

Description
Here’s an easy Celery Lime Juice recipe that is nourishing, fresh, and delicious, with directions for making it in a juicer or a blender. Celery juice is a nourishing beverage that you can drink in the morning, or at any time of day.
Ingredients
- 2 bunches of celery
- 1 lime, skin removed (optional, for better taste)*
Instructions
- Prep the celery for juicing by chopping off the base and tops of the stalks of both bunches.
- Place the celery stalks into a colander in your sink. Wash the celery and pat it dry.
- Run the celery and lime through the feeding tube of juicer (see blender instructions below).
- Serve the juice immediately, or keep any leftovers in an air-tight jar in the fridge. Consume within 3 days of juicing.
Notes
*The Medical Medium says that you should not use anything else with the celery for optimal health, but I find using the juice of one lime makes the celery juice taste so much better.
BLENDER INSTRUCTIONS: To make celery juice using a blender, you’ll need a nut milk bag or some kind of very fine mesh strainer to strain out the pulp.
To make the juice in a blender, add the celery stalks in batches to your high-speed blender.
Add 1/2 cup of water to help get the blender started. Use your tamper to push the celery stalks into the blade. Keep adding the celery until you’ve blended it all. Then, pour the blended celery through the nut milk bag or strainer so remove the pulp from the juice.
Serve immediately and discard the pulp.
Note: one bunch of celery makes about 16 ounces of juice.

I used to read a lot of the Medical Mediums stuff but I haven’t seen him in awhile out on social media. I’m betting this is pretty tasty with the lime juice. I had no idea celery was naturally high in natural sodium! Loving that!!

have heard so much about this drink. Was looking for a good recipe to try. This one looks nice. Will surely try soon.
I’ve been juicing vegetables for years but never tried celery juice on its own as I’ve always thought it would be too much. I love your addition of the lime juice and straining it, will definitely give it a go now. Thank you 🙂

Never had celery juice – I use it cooking all the time. I’m defo intrigued now after reading this
How much celery do you need to keep on hand in order to drink everyday? I would think a ton!
One bunch of celery makes about 16 ounces.
I tried putting my celery in my vitamix but it was awful and tried to get the juice put thru cheese cloth- what a mess and all I got was a half glass of juice!
Darn! Sorry to hear that. I find it much easier to use a nut milk bag with an elastic top than cheesecloth.
you should absolutely add nothing at all to the juice!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it really interferes with the healing properties of the juice! Those ingredients may be great or desirable great by themselves but should NOT be mixed with the celery juice. This is really important!
I drink it, regardless whether it’s a little bitter or sweeter, depending on the stalks I get.
I’ve gone a gluten free diet , I don’t know any recipes.
Thank you for this recipe! I know that celery is really healthy, but I don’t like its taste. Can I add more limes to my juice or some sweeteners?
More limes would help, but adding a green apple would really help!
Thank you! I tried to make it and the taste was really good.
