If you’re on a sugar free or low-sugar diet, then you’ll want to check out my list of sugar free foods for your pantry and kitchen. All of these items can be used for healthy, no sugar living.
Sugar Free Foods For Your Pantry
In the 30-day Sugar Free Challenge, I always recommend that people stock their kitchens with real, clean foods to get ready to go sugar-free. I can’t emphasize this enough! If you are trying to make a change with your diet, you can’t just remove the sugary foods, you have to replace them with foods you can and want to eat. This will help so much with symptoms of sugar withdrawal, plus it will help you transition to a healthier way of eating
Going sugar-free doesn’t mean that you need to go hungry, it’s more about replacing sugary foods with real food alternatives. Don’t worry, I will show you exactly what you need!
So, in this post, I’ve created a helpful breakdown of categories and specific products that you can use to fuel your sugar-free life. Whether you’re going 100% sugar free or you just want to cut back on sugar, I think you will likely experience benefits from this change. As always, please consult your healthcare provider before making any changes to your diet.

Canned & Jarred Foods
To make healthy, sugar-free cooking easier, it’s great to have a stockpile of canned foods in your pantry. Here are some essentials.
- Artichoke hearts
- Beans of all types (black beans, pinto beans, aduki beans, garbanzo beans, etc) and lentils (green, brown, and red)
- Coconut milk and coconut cream
- Crushed pineapple and pineapple chunks
- Tomatoes (fire-roasted, crushed, diced, sun-dried)
- Tomato sauce and tomato paste
- Tuna, salmon, and sardines
Sugar Free Snacks
One of the biggest ways to go off the wagon when you’re trying to cut back on sugar is to not have satisfying snacks on hand. These are some of the best sugar-free snacks.
- Beef jerky (look for Whole30-approved brands that have no added sugars)
- Brown rice cakes
- Dried fruit like mango (allowed if no sugars are added)
- Nuts like cashews and nut butters
Condiments, Dressings, & Oils
It can be tough to find good-tasting condiments and dressings that aren’t made with sugar. One trick is to look for Whole30-approved products. You should always read the labels on these items, too, to make sure there aren’t added sugars in the ingredients.
- Apple cider vinegar
- Avocado oil
- Balsamic vinegar
- Coconut aminos
- Coconut oil
- Hot sauce
- Olive oil
- Salad dressing
Other Pantry Basics
No stocked pantry would be complete without baking items, herbs, spices, and pastas. Here are some items to add to your list.
- Coconut wraps
- Gluten-free pastas like chickpea pasta
- Rice (white or brown)
- Rolled oats and other gluten-free grains like amaranth, millet, buckwheat, and quinoa
- Sea salt
- Spices and dried herbs
- Sugar substitutes
- Teas and coffee beans
